The innovation and engineering behind the 2012 Maserati Quattroporte S Sedan is truly a work of art. The brilliant exterior of the car was created with a new aerodynamic design that increases performance and the chrome grill on the front with the Maserati logo really makes this vehicle stand out in a crowd. Not to mention, for a four-door vehicle, you sure won't find a more fantastic color selection to choose from for the exterior, all thoughtfully picked to highlight the vehicle's elegant lines.

Compared to the Quattroporte base model, the Quattroporte S and GT S are a slight step up as far as performance goes. The base model can accelerate zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds, due to its 4.2-liter V8 engine, however the S and GT S are both equipped with a 4.7-liter V8 engine. This is motivated by 428 horsepower and 361 pound-feet of torque to arrive at 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. Don't expect any favors on fuel economy though as it returns only 12 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway, which is quite close to what the base model with the smaller engine offered as well. The S and GT S come with a standard six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2012 Maserati Quattroporte S comes with standard safety features, such as antilock brakes, airbags in all the right places, electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency interior trunk release, tire pressure monitoring, self-leveling headlights, post-collision safety system, stability and traction control, fog lights, engine immobilizer and dusk sensing headlamps.

When you slip behind the wheel, you immediately know you are in a luxury vehicle as every inch is embellished with either rich wood or supple leather. Controls are intuitive and easy to use without taking our eyes off the road, and there is plenty of head and leg room. It should be noted though that although the rear seat does offer seating for three, it is a bit cramped at capacity and is better suited for two adults. The trunk offers 16 cubic feet of cargo space, so you won't have a problem hauling a little luggage for a weekend getaway or groceries for a family either.

Although the Quattroporte S has a price tag of about $5,000 more than the standard model, it does offer better performance and extra features. It's hard not to spend the extra money when you are already dealing with such a high MSRP. Since Maserati released this design at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, it has got nothing but spectacular reviews from drivers.
