The Scion xB is one of those odd cars that resides somewhere between a sedan, wagon and a crossover. It also managed to get boxier, but less square on the most recent model. However, its boxy shape and high profile give it an interesting appeal while the added cargo space and lack of a sloping rear window might keep you from calling it a sedan. The intriguing body was unique when introduced in 2004, but has since become more familiar and even repeated by other lines.

The Scion xB sedan is all about function, and less about form. The box is the most space efficient form, if not the most attractive. While others, such as Kia and Nissan, have copied this shape, the xB still boasts more cargo space than any of them. With the seats in place, it offers 22 cubic feet of cargo space, but with the rear seats folded, 70 cubic feet of space is awarded. The space for passengers is impressive as well, with enough head and leg room for four tall adults. The rear seating is more reminiscent of front seats, so they are as comfortable as they are roomy.

The 2012 model of the Scion xB sedan has all the bells and whistles you would expect from a car as hip and modern as the xB, including a premium surround stereo system with iPod interface, built-in Bluetooth technology and a fully customizable head unity display. The available upgraded Alpine touchscreen interface system has easy to use knobs that mimic those of an iPod, and includes a media expander to improve digital music quality. There are a total of 47 features to choose from to customize your ride. Scion has thought of everything from 19-inch alloy wheels to carbon fiber window trim to upgraded navigation.

The power in the vehicle comes out of the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 158 horsepower alongside 162 pound-feet torque. it also uses Toyota's Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i) to deliver more torque while still returning good fuel-economy. This is something it certainly excels at as it returns 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The Scion xB Sedan is equipped with a standard five-speed manual transmission, but a four-speed automatic is optional. One thing you may find interesting is that on all 2011 models, Scion is offering free service work for 2 years/25,000 miles.
