Used 2011 Suzuki Equator Truck Review & Ratings

The Suzuki Equator debuted in the US in 2008 and was first sold the year after. It is currently one of the two pick-up trucks in the Suzuki roster. It is a compact pick-up truck competing with high-caliber models like Nissan Frontier, Toyota Tacoma, Honda Ridgeline, Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. A lot of reviews place it in the middle of the pack at the moment based on overall performance and reliability of the truck. Reviews of the Equator shows other trucks outshining it in every aspect, even though it is supposed to be patterned after the very successful Nissan Frontier. The main thing going for the Suzuki Equator is its price which is more affordable than most of the leading trucks in the market right now.

Although it is made after the Nissan Frontier, the Suzuki Equator is doesn't have the long list of luxuriant features that the original have. Both the Frontier and the Equator have a seating capacity of 5 people but the latter is reviewed badly in this regard as the back seats can't comfortably seat passengers. There are not a lot of high-tech audio and visual systems in placed in the 2011 Equator as well. If you need more top of the line gadgets in your truck, you would have to have them installed for additional cost. Safety-wise, both the Frontier and the Equator have good traction control and electronic stability control. Based on reviews, the fuel economy of the Equator is between 19-23MPG which is actually impressive compared to that of the Frontier.

In all fairness to the Suzuki Equator, it still ranks as a better truck compared to the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon according to reviews. For one, it has better seating capacity than the Colorado and Canyon that both only seat 3. The front head room is also better in the Equator, allowing 39.7inches in total. Safety reviews on the Equator are better considering the availability of side air bag that is not present in the two other pick-up trucks. Both of the other pick-ups also don't have brake assist, making the Equator safer in that regard. On highway driving, the Equator is also less fuel efficient as it uses 23MPG while both the Colorado and Canyon both uses an estimated 25MPG. Furthermore, fuel tank capacity on 2011 Equator is 21.1 gallons while the two others only has a capacity of 19 gallons.
