Did You Know?
- This is considered by some to be the first "official" no-hitter in Major League Baseball history, but recognized by others as the second. Major League Baseball's Special Baseball Records Committee (SBRC) ruled in 1968-1969 that the National Association would no longer be recognized as a major league, although it's still recognized as the first professional baseball league. Otherwise Joe Borden's no-hitter vs. the Chicago White Stockings on July 28, 1875 at Jefferson Street Grounds in Philadelphia is recognized as the first no-hitter.
- George Bradley started all 64 games for the Brown Stockings and threw 573 of the team's 577 innings.
