- Hugh Daily tossed his no-hitter only 49 days after being the losing pitcher in Old Hoss Radbourn's no-hitter (vs. Cleveland Blues on July 25, 1883 at National League Park I in Cleveland).
- At 36 years and 58 days old, Daily was the oldest National League pitcher to throw a no-hitter until Sal Maglie (39 years and 153 days old) held the Phillies hitless on September 25, 1956 at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn.
- He's one of only two natives of Ireland to throw a no-hitter (Tony Mullane vs. Red Stockings on September 11, 1882 at Bank Street Grounds in Cincinnati).
- The lone run came in the seventh inning courtesy of a hit by left fielder Tom York, a passed ball, and a hit by right fielder Bill Crowley.
