Comments: Thanks for bringing back some memories of a decade which was one of the best - and also one of the worst - periods of my life! I came back from Vietnam in January '69 and married my college sweetheart a few months later; left the Army in '75 (the big RIF - Reduction in Force, better known in the real world as "downsizing"); got divorced a couple of years later, fell in love and got married again...and divorced again at the end of the '80s. A great site and I'll recommend it to my friends and kin. Jim

The site was extremely helpful and accurate but missing a few 70's entities necessary to put the seventies into complete perspective. But it's certainly a site not to miss. It will be added to my links section soon.

Comments: Here's some release news I thought you might want for your site! Now in his 20th year as a recording artist, Steve Earle is one of America's most acclaimed and respected singer-songwriters. And the latest result of his creative efforts is Sidetracks, a collection of previously unreleased tracks, music from film soundtracks, and unheard alternate versions. Which is in stores now! http://www.artemisrecords.com/steveearle_bio.aspx?abbr=steveearle A direct link to the new single "Some Dreams" from 'The Rookie Soundtrack' is at: http://209.61.190.180/mp3/Some_Dreams.mp3 Also, Warren Zevons new record titled 'My Ride's Here' will be in stores May 7th! This time he collaborated with a handful of famous writers. "Basket Case," the first single from the album, was written with Carl Hiaasen, Miami Herald columnist and author of "Strip Tease" and "Skin Tight." The song is linked to his new novel of the same name, which reached No. 3 on the New York Times bestseller list. http://www.artemisrecords.com/zevon_bio.aspx?abbr=zevon Download the new song at: http://www.warrenzevon.com

Comments: Did Billy Preston's songwriting friend, Bruce Fisher, write any more songs besides "Will It Go Round In Circles?" He is from Evanston, Illinois, (as I am and many people there remember Bruce). I thought that once I saw his name among the credits of a movie - but don't remember the movie and I am not sure it was the Bruce Fisher mentioned above. Evanstonians who knew him, know he helped write that song - just wondered if he continued as a song writer and what has become of him in his music career. Thanks, Pat

Comments: IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES, IT WAS THE WORST OF TIMES. THOSE GROUPS LISTED WAS HOW I SPENT MY TEENS AND EARLY ADULT YEARS LISTENING TO MUSIC. DISCO WAS DEFINITELY NOT ON MY RADAR. IN FACT IF IT BECAME MAINSTREAM IT WAS PURE GARBAGE. IF IT WAS TEENYBOOPER IT WAS NOT GETTING INTO MY HOUSE OR ON MY RADIO. THIS WAS THE HEYDAY OF ALBUM ROCK. NOTHING BETTER THAT WNEW IN NEW YORK PLAYING THE WHOLE SIDE OF CLOSE TO THE EDGE OR SUPPER' READY WHILE DRIVING ON A SATURDAY OR FRIDAY NIGHT. THE LATE ALISON STEELE, "THE NIGHTBIRD", OR ROSCO OR ZACHARY OR SCOTT MUNI OR PETE FORNATEL TO KEEP ME UP LISTENING TO THE MUSIC. CONCERTS WERE THE SAME. IF ONE THOSE GROUPS WERE IN THE NORTHEAST I WAS THERE. IN NYC, LI, PHILLY, BOSTON, EVEN DC; NO ROAD TRIP WAS TOO FAR OR TOO DIFFICULT. IT WAS MY YOUTH, AND I IT CRETED MEMORIES THAT STILL LIVE TODAY.

Comments: I was a great fan of Richard and Karen Carpenter when I first heard them and heard Karen's voice. It was like a cord hit inside me and her singing was so beautiful. My favorite song "Rainy Days
and Mondays"
