Trial suggests simple liquid may stop tooth cavities without drilling
What if treating a child's cavity took just a few seconds, without drilling, injections or anesthesia? A major clinical trial suggests that a simple liquid called silver diamine fluoride (SDF) could help make that possible. The Phase III study, led by researchers at the University of Michigan and published in JAMA Pediatrics, involved 830 children aged 12 to 71 months with severely early childhood tooth decay.
