Star third baseman Jose Ramirez also earned recognition as one of the top three finalists at his position.
Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez throws to first in the second inning against the Tigers in Game 2 of the ALDS, Oct.. 7, 2024, in Cleveland.
The Guardians team defense throughout 2024 was among the best in baseball. According to The Fielding Bible , the Guardians ranked second in MLB behind only the Toronto Blue Jays in defensive runs saved with 89 of them (Toronto collected 101).
Cleveland's infield defense was the catalyst, led by the aforementioned stars at second and third base along with breakout shortstop Brayan Rocchio .
Not to be outdone by his infield teammates, left fielder Steven Kwan also joined the fray of Gold Glove Award finalists.

Kwan gave the baseball world a taste of what he can do in the field during the ALDS against the Detroit Tigers when he made an unbelievable diving play to deny what would have been a clutch RBI hit in the eighth inning.
