John Franklin-Myers knows his worth.
The veteran defensive lineman is scheduled to become a free agent in 2026, and he has made it clear that he will sign elsewhere if the Denver Broncos do not meet his contract demands with an extension.
It's unclear exactly how much JFM is seeking per season, but Spotrac.com's estimate seems to be way off the lineman's expectation. The website estimates JFM has a market value of around $8.5 million per year , projecting a three-year contract worth $25,550,385.
Franklin-Myers clearly disagrees with that projection.
"Them people on spotrac need to recalculate 😂," Franklin-Myers tweeted last week . "idk where they got that [crap] from."
After being traded from the New York Jets to the Broncos last year, JFM agreed to restructure his contract to a two-year, $15 million deal. Franklin-Myers is now set to earn about $8 million in 2025 before becoming a free agent in 2026, and he wants a raise on his next contract.
The 28-year-old lineman is coming off an impressive seven-sack season, and he probably deserves a raise, but it's unclear if Denver will be the team that gives him one. The Broncos' list of players scheduled to hit free agency in 2026 also includes defensive linemen Zach Allen and Malcolm Roach , pass rusher Nik Bonitto and wide receiver Courtland Sutton , and the team might not be able to re-sign all of them .
JFM figures to get a payday eventually. We just don't know yet if Denver is the team that will pay him.
