Just as Sean Payton predicted, the Denver Broncos have one player sidelined going into training camp.
Broncos wide receiver A.T. Perry ( ankle ) has been designated as physically unable to perform, according to the NFL's transaction wire. Perry still counts against the team's active roster, and he is eligible to be activated from the list as soon as he's able to practice. Going on the list simply means Perry is not yet able to practice.
Payton predicted this possibility last month.
"There may be one player, Perry, that might go a week into training camp and then be ready, depending on how the summer goes," Payton said in June . "Outside of that, we expect everyone back."
Perry (6-5, 205 pounds) entered the league as a sixth-round pick out of Wake Forest with the New Orleans Saints in 2023. After a year and a half in New Orleans , Perry joined Denver's practice squad. The 25-year-old receiver has appeared in 10 career games (with the Saints), hauling in 12 receptions for 246 yards and four touchdowns.
