Exactly five weeks after being waived by the Denver Broncos with an injury settlement , it looks like Blake Watson (knee) is now healthy, and he's found a new home.
The second-year running back tried out for the Tennessee Titans on Monday and then signed with their practice squad, according to Titans Wire . Watson (5-9, 195 pounds) rushed 18 times for 75 yards and hauled in 10 receptions for 50 yards during preseason with the Broncos this summer.
Denver wanted to re-sign Watson to its own practice squad, according to the Denver Gazette 's Chris Tomasson , but NFL rules would have made him ineligible to sign with the Broncos until Week 7 after receiving an injury settlement. Watson didn't want to wait that long, so he joined the Titans instead. (Denver did add fellow running back Deuce Vaughn to the practice squad earlier this month.)
Watson originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis in 2024. He spent most of his rookie season on Denver's practice squad, rushing four times for 10 yards and hauling in a 13-yard in reception in two appearances last fall.
The Broncos currently have four running backs on the active roster -- J.K. Dobbins , RJ Harvey , Tyler Badie and Jaleel McLaughlin -- plus Vaughn on the practice squad. Watson, meanwhile, gets a fresh start in Tennessee.
