The Texas Tech football team's 2026 recruiting class reached an even dozen on Sunday, June 8, with a commitment from Demarcus Marks, a defensive end from Spring Westfield.
Marks, listed by Westfield last season as 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, was credited with 27 tackles, including 8 tackles for loss with 4 sacks. The Mustangs finished 8-3 overall and 7-0 in District 14-6A. In their perfect run through district, the Mustangs allowed an average of 8 points per game, allowing no more than 15 points to any one opponent.
New Red Raiders defensive tackle A.J. Holmes , who transferred in from Houston in January, is from the same high school.
Tech had gone since mid-April without a commitment, but the one from Marks was the Red Raiders' second of the day. Jacob Crow , a 6-8, 300-pound offensive lineman off a Class 3A state championship team from Alcoa, Tennessee, also pledged to Tech. Crow and Marks both announced their pledges on social media.
