- UNC's top 2025 basketball commit tabbed amongst 10 best in his recruiting class
With all the offseason moves in Chapel Hill, your North Carolina Tar Heels have plenty of hype and anticipation ahead of their upcoming basketball season.
UNC aced the transfer portal , highlighted by landing commitments from 7-foot center Henri Veesaar and projected starting point guard Kyan Evans. North Carolina struggled in the 2024 transfer portal, bring in Ven-Allen Lubin, Ty Claude and Cade Tyson, but Lubin was the only portal addition who contributed significant minutes.

The Tar Heels also aced their 2025 recruiting class, with their top victory in landing a commitment from 5-star power forward Caleb Wilson . UNC struggled in the post last season, an area Wilson is expected to contribute in immediately.
Speaking of 2025 recruits, Wilson is one of the country's best. In 247Sports' Final Rankings of the 2025 class , Wilson slots in at eighth.
Wilson sits between Link Academy center Chris Cenac Jr. (seventh), who is committed to Kelvin Sampson and the Houston Cougars, plus Eleanor Roosevelt combo guard Brayden Burries, who'll join the Arizona WIldcats this fall.
Despite not playing in a college game yet, Wilson brings some much-needed championship experience to North Carolina for its 2025-2026 campaign, as Wilson helped his Holy Innocents Episcopal School teammates capture a State Championship earlier in 2025. Wilson was the undisputed star of this game, scoring 33 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

The Tar Heels also landed Chapel Hill native Jarin Stevenson , who'll team up with Wilson at power forward. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilson or Stevenson play small forward, as both are starting-caliber players who need to see significant minutes.
