There are plenty of big offseason decisions looming for the Pittsburgh Steelers , from finding a short-to-long-term solution at the quarterback position to continuing to address an underperforming defense. But Over the Cap may have presented the Steelers with two more pressing matters, specifically potential roster cuts.
Per Nick of Over the Cap , linebackers Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison are two Steelers who made it onto the Top 100 possible cut candidates, with selections based on these three factors:
-
Players who are due a minimum of $4 million for 2025
-
Players who "have a negative contract fate greater than 50%"
-
Players who rank within the top 100 with the worst OTC valuation above a median starter, which fans can read more about here
Projected to have around $39 million in cap space, the Steelers could theoretically release both Queen and Harrison to save around $18 million by cutting them either pre- or post-June 1, while eating approximately $5.9 million in dead cap.
Both Queen and Harrison have emerged as solid contributors against the run to close out the regular season, but it remains to be seen if the Steelers value their production enough to warrant leaving them on the roster in 2026.
