We are less than a week until the phone lines start lighting up between teams and agents for impending free agents. And the Raiders will have a lot of money to spend . Who gets the most aggressive calls from the Las Vegas Raiders will depend on the positions they most need to fill. They have many needs, but there are a few that will take precedence over the rest.
You won't find quarterback on this list because, though they will likely address it in free agency , the big fish will wait for the NFL Draft where they are expected to select Fernando Mendoza at No. 1 overall. These needs are the ones who they will look to find one or more starters in free agency.
1. Offensive line
Specific need: Potentially every position .
The only spot on the Raiders line that is set is Kolton Miller at left tackle. Every other spot is unspoken for. They have Caleb Rogers and Jackson Powers-Johnson on the interior, but it remains to be seen whether JPJ will play guard or center and the decision could largely depend on who they can get in free agency. Right tackle could use an upgrade from DJ Glaze after a rough 2025 campaign.
2. Wide receiver
Specific need:X receiver
Landing a quality X receiver is not an easy task, but the Raiders must try. Tre Tucker has the speed and quickness to play inside/outside and they hope Jack Bech can be a big slot target as well. But that's all they've got and that ain't much. So, along with a starting X, they need an overall infusion of talent at the position.
3. Linebacker
Specific need: Every linebacker position .
All the 2025 starters are either gone or headed for free agency. And none were great starters anyway. Hence, why the team appears to be ok with letting them walk. There's simply no way they can get away without adding several starting caliber linebackers in free agency.
4. Cornerback
Specific need: Outside starter and nickel .
Re-signing Eric Stokes would help a great deal. If they don't, they will have a big hole to fill at outside corner. Should they hold onto Stokes, they will still need competition at the other cornerback spot. They also need a nickel corner.
5. Edge rusher
Specific need: One and possible two new starters .
If Maxx Crosby is traded , they have no starting caliber edge rushers on the team. And this need rises to top three. If they hold onto Crosby, he still needs help on the other side. And with the switch to the 3-4, those will be in the form of pass rushing outside linebackers.
