Mike Tomlin's departure from the Pittsburgh Steelers left many concerned about Aaron Rodgers' future in the Steel City. But as the Steelers show interest in head coach candidate Mike McCarthy , some have speculated the two former Packers could reunite in Pittsburgh.
According to Connor Hughes of SNY, Rodgers hinted at reuniting with his former Packers coach at the end of his Jets tenure, claiming he'd go "wherever Mike McCarthy ends up."
Steelers president Art Rooney II dashed many hopes regarding whether Rodgers would return in 2026, claiming the quarterback came to Pittsburgh to play for Tomlin — but if McCarthy is hired as the next head coach, who's to say he wouldn't reconsider another run in the Black and Gold?
McCarthy shouldn't be prioritized based on the addition of Rodgers alone, as several other top candidates, like former Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula, also deserve a closer look over the next several weeks.
