Recently, the Bills had a bittersweet reality of their recent roster changes, and they are reportedly “not happy” about missing out on the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft after trading the 60th overall pick for DJ Moore . Similar to the franchise-altering trade for Stefon Diggs in previous years, the Bills are prioritizing the immediate impact Moore can make on the field rather than the draft capital they relinquished to the Chicago Bears .

This trade also represents a significant turning point for Bears quarterback Caleb Williams , who finally addressed the loss of his most reliable target, as noticed by Pro Football Talk.
Having completed more passes to Moore than to any other receiver during his first two seasons, Williams admitted that losing him is a personal challenge.
Nevertheless, he displayed maturity by recognizing the financial rationale behind the move, which saved the Bears approximately $16.5 million in salary cap space.
Williams acknowledged that while it “sucks” to see a friend depart, he understands that the NFL is fundamentally a business where players must “roll with the punches.”

He expressed genuine excitement for Moore’s future in Buffalo, believing that the veteran will thrive in an offense that offers plenty of opportunities to make plays.
Despite losing his primary target, Williams is approaching the 2026 season with a focus on legacy rather than past statistics.
He has downplayed the success of his 2025 campaign, viewing it merely as a stepping stone toward his ultimate goal of becoming a world champion.
Williams explicitly stated that his objective is not just to win games but to become the greatest quarterback in the history of the Chicago Bears and lead the franchise to a Super Bowl title.

This high-level ambition indicates that while the chemistry with Moore will be missed, Williams’ drive to reach the pinnacle of the sport remains the primary force behind the team’s transition.
