Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is getting his wish granted. After Burrow expressed his desire for a Bengals game to take place overseas, the NFL is working to make sure Cincinnati does that. The Bengals will play the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9 of the 2026 season in Madrid, per The 33rd Team.
The NFL has been scheduling more and more games to be played in Europe and South America, as well as other places. Burrow has wanted a chance to travel and be a part of it.
"Maybe an international game next year too," Burrow said last May about wanting an international game for the team, per AtoZ Sports. "I think part of the reason I wanted to do the 'Quarterback' show, I wanted to help grow the game internationally, and so to not have a stage like that is a little disappointing, because I feel like I've consciously worked hard to try to grow the game internationally over the last 18 months or so. So hopefully at some point in my career we can go over there."
There are big expectations for the Bengals heading into the 2026 season . All of the other teams in the AFC North have undergone head coaching changes this offseason. Bengals fans think that this season may be Burrow's best chance for a Super Bowl in years.
Burrow dealt with injuries once again in 2025 . He is working out extensively this offseason, to try and regain his full strength.
Cincinnati missed the NFL Playoffs in 2025. The Bengals finished the year with a 6-11 record. Atlanta meanwhile finished the season with a 8-9 mark.
