Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant was released from a local hospital on Sunday evening with a concussion. "All other tests came back negative," according to The Athletic 's Nick Kosmider .
Concussions shouldn't be taken lightly, but after Bryant was loaded onto a spineboard and carted off the field, it's a relief that he does not have a neurological injury.
Bryant took a brutal hit from Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Montaric Brown on the second-to-last play of Sunday's 34-20 loss , and he remained on the ground after the whistle blew. Players from both teams gathered around the receiver while he was placed on a spineboard and carted to an ambulance to be taken to a hospital.
Broncos quarterback Bo Nix slammed his helmet on the ground after the play, and he said during his postgame press conference that he feels responsible for the injury because he threw the pass.
Bryant is now in the NFL's concussion protocol, and he is unlikely to play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday. Following that game, Denver will close out the regular season at home against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18.
