The biggest question mark around the Cleveland Browns this offseason, and nearly every offseason in recent memory, is around who will be the starting quarterback in the upcoming season. During a press conference during the NFL Scouting Combine, Todd Monken was asked about last year's fifth-round pick, Shedeur Sanders .
Monken stated , "What I see in Shedeur is elite playmaking ability. It's in him." It was an up-and-down season for Sanders last year, though his offensive line and lack of weapons didn't do him any favors. Monken did a great job elevating Lamar Jackson 's performance to a whole other level, and if he believes the talent is there with Sanders, one could envision and hope he does the same with him.
Not that Sanders has the physical tools or athletic ability of Jackson, but he did show some positive flashes last year, though they were inconsistent. Monken also said that Sanders has a long way to go, but that he could be the starter in Week One, and that he is excited to work with all the quarterbacks during offseason workouts.
