BOSTON — As is tradition at the end of every hockey season, when the Bruins met with the media on breakup day on Sunday at Warrior Arena, quite a few players revealed the injuries they'd been concealing late in the regular season and into the playoffs.
As is usually the case, the players had quite the collections of breaks, tears, pulls, punctures, etc. Surgery, rehab and rest lie ahead for many Bruins , who were eliminated from the playoff by the Sabres on Friday night.
Here are the injuries they've revealed since the season ended:
Charlie McAvoy — The Bruins alternate captain added a broken right hand to the list of things he injured this season. He's got some dental work ahead of him as well.
"I've got some stuff to get done," he said. "I broke my hand in Game 2. I have that appointment (Monday)," he said. "We'll see what kind of dental work is planned."
Elias Lindholm —The Bruins center's back injury from two seasons ago resurfaced during a faceoff earlier this year and continued through much of 2025-26. Lindholm revealed he felt 100% at the beginning of the season, and had an injection prior to going to the Olympics.
There are other treatment options for his injury.
"I'll look into it," Lindholm said, but did not say what those options are.
Hampus Lindholm —The alternate captain suffered a small fracture in his foot in December. Lindholm said it's beginning to heal and he expects to have a healthy offseason.
"Luckily, I play a sport where you can kind of lock your foot in pretty good," he said. "You can play with stuff like that when you get on the ice."
David Pastrnak —Pastrnak said he suffered a groin tear in November that affected him earlier in the season, but said it didn't affect him in the playoffs.
Nikita Zadorov —After Boston's Game 6 loss, The Bruins defenseman said he tore his MCL off the bone in Game 3. Zadorov is seeing the doctor on Tuesday and is hoping to avoid surgery.
Viktor Arvidsson —The Bruins second-line forward missed Game 5 and 6 after suffering a punctured lung and fractured rib. He said he had hoped to be able to return for Game 7 if the Bruins made it that far.
Pavel Zacha —The Bruins forward said he suffered a high ankle sprain, but doesn't believe it impacted him too much.
"It was nothing too serious," Zacha said. "Other than that, (my health) was good. After missing the Olympics, I had good rest and felt good."
