The Pittsburgh Steelers could soon lose one of their more valuable assistant coaches.
Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan told the team's assistant coaches that none of them are guaranteed a job after Mike Tomlin stepped down as head coach.
"GM Omar Khan, Art Rooney II, they took those coaches in a meeting," NFL insider Kimberly Martin said on SportsCenter . "Omar Khan said, 'Listen, your emails are done after this week. By next week, clean out your offices. The new head coach may keep you. He may not.'"
That doesn't mean the Steelers will ultimately decide to part ways with all of them, but the longer new head coach Mike McCarthy takes to select his staff, the more likely that becomes.
Pittsburgh already lost special teams coaching legend Danny Smith , who left to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . Now, the team could lose another of its more valuable assistant coaches.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz , the Dallas Cowboys have requested to interview Steelers outside linebackers coach Denzel Martin.
Martin has been in Pittsburgh since 2016, working as a coaching assistant on the defense and earning a promotion to outside linebackers coach in 2023.
During that span, he has helped develop outside linebacker T.J. Watt into one of the best players in the NFL as well as Alex HighSmith and Nick Herbig into key contributors.

The Steelers could still decide to retain Martin, but they better move a bit faster if that is the case as their assistant coaches continue to get plucked by the rest of the league.
