Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow was placed on the injured list on Friday . The pitcher is dealing with low back spasms. The move was not guaranteed to happen after Glasnow exited his most recent start, but Los Angeles ultimately decided that it was the best decision. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts later explained the move , via Fredo Cervantes.
"It was the right thing to do. Probably could've pitch through it," Roberts said.
The Dodgers are understandably proceeding with caution. Glasnow has dealt with injuries in the past. Risking further injury by having him pitch through this issue was something the team was clearly not willing to do. The good news is that Blake Snell is returning soon . Of course, the Dodgers are hopeful that Glasnow will not have to miss too much time.
Overall, the right-handed hurler has pitched to a 2.72 ERA across seven games pitched in 2026. He's certainly made a significant impact for the ball club.
The Dodgers will continue to monitor and provide updates on Tyler Glasnow 's injury status as they are made available.
Los Angeles is currently hosting the Atlanta Braves . The Dodgers earned a victory in the first contest of the three-game series on Friday night, as they won by a final score of 3-1. LA now holds a 24-14 overall record and a two game lead over the San Diego Padres for first place in the National League West.
The Dodgers will play the Braves once again on Saturday night at 9:10 PM EST in Los Angeles.
