- Falcons have roster spot available after cutting veteran edge rusher
The Atlanta Falcons released veteran edge rusher Khalid Kareem from their 53-man roster on Thursday evening. Kareem, a former fifth-round pick out of Notre Dame, was signed off the team's practice squad back in Week 11.
The 27-year-old recorded one tackle and one batted ball against the Carolina Panthers but was inactive for the Falcons' Week 12 win over the New Orleans Saints . Over 31 career games, Kareem has recorded 35 tackles (18 solo), one sack and one forced fumble.

Kareem will likely be added to the practice squad, and don't be surprised if the team signs wide receiver K.J. Osborn to the roster. Drake London is considered doubtful for Sunday's game against the New York Jets . Plus, Osborn has experience playing with Kirk Cousins from their time together on the Minnesota Vikings .
