The Georgia Bulldogs basketball program and coach Mike White are losing a significant amount of top tier talent to the NCAA transfer portal . The Bulldogs have lost seven players to the portal, which opened on April 7.
Most notably Georgia lost the team's leading scorer, guard Jeremiah Wilkinson, and the SEC's blocks leader, center Somto Cyril. Both Wilkinson and Cyril are ranked as top-20 players in the transfer portal as of April 7, per 247Sports.
Wilkinson is ranked as the No. 17 player in the portal and the No. 3 combo guard. For a second straight year, Georgia is losing its top guard to the portal. Last offseason, Georgia lost Silas Demary to the portal. Demary transferred to the UConn Huskies and made the Final Four before losing in the national championship.
Wilkinson was Georgia's leading scorer, made a team-high 79 three-pointers, led the team in steals and was the best player on UGA at drawing fouls.
Interestingly, Cyril is ranked as a better transfer than Wilkinson. He's the No. 12 transfer in the country and the second-best center. Cyril is a rim protector and was among the SEC's top defensive players in 2025-2026. He led Georgia in rebounding, but was not a lock to be in lineup during key moments due to foul troubles or matchups.
