- Hubert Davis provides update on Seth Trimble
The North Carolina Tar Heels are in Lexington on Tuesday night to face off against No. 18 Kentucky in the ACC/SEC Challenge. After losing to Michigan State for their first loss of the season, UNC is looking to rebound and get back in the win column.
It will be a tough test and it will be another game without a key starter in guard Seth Trimble .
The senior has missed the past two weeks after suffering a left arm injury that required surgery. But on Monday, Davis provided a key update to Trimble's status and it's good news.
"I don't have a definitive answer in regards to when he's going to come back, but he's progressing fast and really well," Davis said via Tar Heel 247 . "He's shooting, he's dribbling, he's conditioning. And so it's in a really good spot, and I'm looking forward to when he can get back out there on the floor."
That's good news.
Davis didn't set a timeline but nothing has changed in terms of the original timeline, which is the end of December for Trimble's return. Barring a setback, that appears to be the case.
North Carolina is losing their best defender in the starting lineup with Trimble out. They are also losing a veteran presence who has played in big games like this one at Kentucky. UNC has a few more tests left in non-conference play but it's unlikely Trimble will be ready for those as well.
