The Boston Celtics recently shook up the NBA world when they traded star wing Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Paul George , two first-round draft picks, and two second-round draft picks. The move was shocking to many fans who expected Boston to get more in return for their 2024 NBA Finals MVP, who had not even requested a trade from the team this offseason.

One fan decided to take out his anger with an NSFW rant in the form of a voice memo DM's to the Celtics on Instagram.

The sentiment was shared by many across Celtics Nation on Wednesday who felt that Boston had traded one of its two best players, seemingly for no good reason. The fact that the return package centered around George, who at the age of 36 is not anywhere close to the same player he was during his prime and is also a massive injury risk, only made matters worse, with many fans expressing that their trust in team executive and former head coach Brad Stevens had been all but destroyed by this move.

Some have floated the idea of Stevens now flipping one or two of those draft assets in exchange for a player to help Boston win now, with New Orleans Pelicans wing Trey Murphy III coming up as a potential option on the market. However, even if that move were to materialize, it's hard to envision that alone smoothing over Celtics fans' angst at the present moment.

Boston still figures to be among the best teams in the Eastern Conference next year, but they undoubtedly took a step back, at least for now, with their trade of Brown on Wednesday.
