The New York Mets had a night to forget against the Philadelphia Phillies , and Freddy Peralta stood at the center of the damage. In a brutal NL East matchup, the Phillies crushed the Mets 15-3 and turned the game into a blowout early . Mets fans hoped for a steady outing, but the veteran right-hander gave up 10 runs and two home runs before his night ended. After the loss, Freddy Peralta did not hide from the moment.

Peralta left with the Mets already trailing 8-0. The game felt out of reach before the middle innings. Philadelphia kept swinging with force. The crowd roared as the Phillies piled on, and New York had no clean answer under the stadium lights.
SNY TV asked Peralta what made him most unhappy about the outing . His answer was simple and honest.
"Everything in general, but only being able to throw 2+ innings"
That line told the story. Peralta did not just struggle with command. He could not give the Mets length and that forced the bullpen into early damage control. It also left the rest of the team chasing a mountain before the offense had any real chance to respond.

Freddy Peralta owns brutal Mets loss
The night grew worse after Peralta exited. Cionel Perez entered and could not stop the bleeding. Kyle Schwarber then launched a three-run homer that pushed the Phillies' lead to 11-0 . At that point, the game had fully slipped away.
Still, Peralta showed accountability after the loss. He admitted that his season has been inconsistent. At the same time, he made it clear that he still believes there is room to correct the course .
"I have time to be better"
That quote matters because the Mets need more than regret. Instead, they need a response. A 15-3 loss can shake a clubhouse, but it can also force a reset. For Peralta, the path forward starts with owning the night and moving quickly from it. He knows the standard. Mets fans know it too. Now, the only question that matters is simple: how fast can he turn this around?
