- Mike Vrabel has high praise for Seahawks ahead of Super Bowl matchup vs. Patriots
The Patriots are preparing for their Super Bowl 60 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks . The two teams did not meet in the regular season, but Mike Vrabel knows they’re a complete team.
“Excellent, really, in all three phases. Special teams have broken games open. Tie game in Atlanta , opening of the second half, and they take one to the house,” the Patriots coach said during his weekly appearance on WEEI . “Defense creates two turnovers and that kind of gets out of hand.

“Defensively, they’re big along the front,” Vrabel continued , “Very active. No. 1 scoring defense in the league. Offensively, big offensive line. Multiple different run schemes. Obviously, ( Jaxon Smith-Njigba ) is an issue. Sam Darnold , we talk about journeys and things like that, and no better example than him. Talented and he has obviously figured it out.”
Seattle has a strong defense as Vrabel noted. But the Patriots have been able to overcome other top-10 defenses including the Los Angeles Chargers , Houston Texans and the Denver Broncos during their path to the Super Bowl.
The Seahawks’ 47 sacks ranked seventh in the NFL in 2025.
On offense, Seattle boasts plenty of playmakers in Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp and Kenneth Walker , who amassed 1,027 rushing yards for the Seahawks.
