Anyone else miss RJ Davis
? One of the greatest scorers in UNC men's basketball history, Davis is now entering his second season of professional basketball.
Davis initially signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Los Angeles Lakers
in June 2025, then spent his first year playing with their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. Davis averaged 18.3 points, five assists and 3.7 rebounds per game, showcasing himself as a valuable asset for NBA teams.

Now, Davis is thriving with the San Antonio Spurs
in NBA Summer League action. On Sunday evening in the Spurs' 90-80 win over the Milwaukee Bucks
, Davis led his new teammates with 20 points on 6-of-16 shooting and four made free throws.
Davis also showcased his ability to contribute aside from the scoring column, adding three assists, two steals and one rebound. Sunday was Davis' fourth time scoring in double-figures, though: he previously scored 15 against the Miami Heat
in his Summer League debut on July 3, 18 against the Lakers on July 6, then 12 against the Atlanta Hawks
on July 9.
The best year of Davis' 5-year Tar Heel tenure came during his senior season, winning ACC Player of the Year honors
in 2023-24 while averaging a career-high 21.2 points per game. Davis set the new Dean Dome record with 42 points
in a close win over Miami, led North Carolina to a sweep of archrival Duke and to the Sweet 16 vs. Alabama.

With four double-digit point totals already in Summer League action, Davis continues to prove himself worthy of an NBA spot. Will the Spurs sign Davis to a contract, or will he play elsewhere once again?
