The SEC sent five teams to the College Football Playoff, but it all felt so empty with a third straight season without a national championship appearance.
There's a new energy this year.
Auburn, Florida, LSU, and Texas will all be better, and Arkansas, Kentucky, and South Carolina should be stronger after disappointing years. Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M - the CFP teams of last season - aren't going anywhere.
