Skip Bayless said Lionel Messi was "even bigger than Taylor Swift" after the Argentina captain produced a stunning hat-trick against Algeria at the FIFA World Cup.
Messi delivered another historic performance on football's biggest stage, scoring all three goals in Argentina's 3-0 victory and moving level with Miroslav Klose as the tournament's all-time leading scorer.
The display left Bayless in awe, with the veteran sports analyst sharing a series of posts on X as he watched Messi continue to rewrite the record books.

Messi's latest World Cup masterclass took place at Arrowhead Stadium, where he scored all three goals in Argentina's 3-0 win over Algeria.
Bayless reacted to the performance with a post comparing Messi's impact to one of the world's biggest celebrities.
"Tonight at Arrowhead, Messi was even bigger than Taylor Swift."
Bayless' reference was a nod to Swift's regular appearances at Kansas City Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium, where she is frequently seen supporting her fiancé Travis Kelce.
As Messi continued to make headlines, Bayless became more animated in his praise.
"MESSI, almost 39, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL."
Messi's first goal helped Argentina take control of the match before he added two more to complete a memorable hat-trick.
Bayless continued posting throughout the game as Messi edged closer to football history.
"MESSI, again. 2-0. And nearly again! He always seems to materialize at the perfect place as the perfect time. Genius anticipation. Feet like hands. At nearly 39 still looks like he could run forever. And listed at only 5-7 and 147 pounds! Privilege to watch this."
When Messi completed his hat-trick, Bayless turned his attention to the records now within reach.
"MESSI, AGAIN!!! HAT TRICK!!! ONE AWAY FROM ALL-TIME RECORD!!! GOAT SHOWCASE!!!"
The three goals moved Messi onto 16 World Cup goals, allowing him to surpass Brazilian legend Ronaldo and draw level with Miroslav Klose at the top of the tournament's all-time scoring chart.
Messi also reached two other major milestones during the match, making his 200th appearance for Argentina and becoming the first player in football history to feature at six different World Cups.
