- Why Mikaylah Williams didn't play for LSU vs Ole Miss in second half
LSU women's basketball' s collective back was against the wall. Ole Miss had Kim Mulkey and the Tigers on the ropes with a 43-37 halftime advantage Thursday night inside Sandy and John Black Pavilion.
When the Tigers came out of the locker room for the second half, there was one noticeable lineup change: junior star guard Mikaylah Williams was on the bench to open the third quarter.
As the rest of the game played out, that's where Williams remained. Making LSU's 78-70 win over the Rebels all the more impressive, accomplishing the feat without its third-leading scorer on the team on the court.

Williams did not play in the second half at Ole Miss as the Tigers erased a 10-point deficit in the final 6:24 to complete the comeback.
When asked after the game why Williams did not play in the second half, Mulkey said that it was a "coach's decision."
"The same reason (freshman forward) Grace (Knox) didn't get back in the game," Mulkey said. "You just make decisions."
This is the first time that Williams didn't play in a second half during her LSU career.
The last play Williams was on the court, she attempted to draw a foul on a three-point attempt and her shot was blocked by Ole Miss guard Debreasha Powe. Williams finished the game with 7 points on 3 of 8 shooting, but had four turnovers.
Williams has had at least two turnovers in every SEC game and committed at least three turnovers in eight of 13 conference games, including in five straight games.
