New York City could be in for one of its most memorable nights of sporting celebrations if both the Knicks and Brazil get the job done on Saturday.
The Knicks are just one win away from their first NBA title since 1973, holding a 3-1 lead over the San Antonio Spurs going into Game 5 of the 2026 Finals.
Earlier in the evening, Brazil face Morocco in a World Cup group C match at MetLife Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 6pm ET.

The timing of both matches means thousands of fans could be filtering back into Manhattan from East Rutherford just as Knicks supporters are gathering to watch what could be a title-clinching victory.
John Brennan summed up the situation on social media, pointing out that fans leaving MetLife could be arriving in Manhattan just as the Knicks are wrapping up a potential championship win.
His conclusion was simple: New York could be heading for a once-in-a-generation Saturday night, with a championship-starved basketball fanbase colliding with one of football's most passionate followings.
Of course, both results still need to happen. Brazil have to beat Morocco, and the Knicks have to finish the job in San Antonio.
But the ingredients are there: a World Cup fixture, a potential NBA title, and a city that has been waiting more than half a century to celebrate another Knicks championship.
Brazil and Morocco kick off at 6pm ET, and a standard World Cup match should finish before the Knicks and Spurs move into the most important stretch of Game 5.
Game 5 tips off at 8:30pm ET, meaning the fourth quarter could overlap with the time Brazilian fans are returning from MetLife.
It is not just two big events happening on the same day. It is the way the timing could bring two distinct sporting cultures together in one city, one draped in blue and orange, the other in yellow and green.
New York's position in the series comes after a remarkable Game 4 comeback at Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks overturned a 29-point deficit to win 107-106, with OG Anunoby's late tip-in and another strong performance from Jalen Brunson sealing the result.

The victory put them within touching distance of a long-awaited title, and fans know how much Saturday could mean.
For many, it is not just another big game. It is a chance to witness a moment they have never seen in their lifetime.
Brazil's opening game of the World Cup will already have brought thousands of fans into the area, with plenty expected to stay in the city after the match.
Travel guidance for the tournament warns of heavy congestion around MetLife, with organised transport expected to move supporters back towards Manhattan throughout the evening.
That is where Brennan's point hits home. The city could be packed with two waves of fans moving through the streets at the same time.
New York does not need much to get loud. Saturday could give it two good reasons. Nothing is guaranteed, which is exactly why the anticipation feels so real.
Brazil have already brought the party atmosphere to NYC and the best sporting nights are sometimes built more on timing than planning. This one has both.
If Brazil win at MetLife and the Knicks finish the job in Game 5, New York City could have one of those rare nights where the whole place feels like a stadium.
