The Toronto Blue Jays are still unsure about the pitcher they signed.

Right-handed hurler Cody Ponce's road to recovery has officially begun

The Blue Jays need a big time arm in hopes of saving their disastrous start.

The official word is out and unfortunately it isn't in Toronto's favor as Cody Ponce is likely miss the rest of the year as he undergoes surgery on his ACL.

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Cody Ponce needs surgery for his injured right knee and is expected to miss at least six months, likely ending his season after one abbreviated outing. Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk is expected to miss at least six weeks after having surgery Tuesday on his fractured left thumb. Kirk left Friday’s game in the 10th inning when his thumb was dislocated and fractured by a foul tip from White Sox outfielder Austin Hays.

This is some tough news for Ponce and the Blue Jays.

As the Blue Jays continue to deal with a litany of pitching injuries, Toronto has turned to a veteran to help fill the void.

Bad news for Toronto.

Toronto may need some reinforcements.
