LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Damarion Dennis scored a career-high 22 points in his Texas Tech debut, and the No. 19 Red Raiders opened the season with a 47th consecutive nonconference home win, beating Jackson State 76-42 on Monday night.

Wyoming transfer Damarion Dennis sparked a dominant season opener in Lubbock, netting a career-high 22 points as the Red Raiders stifled the Tigers with relentless, high-pressure defense.

These two Red Raiders helped their case for playing time in the exhibition matchup.

Kentucky’s interior length exposed critical frontcourt depth concerns, but Demarion Dennis’s breakout performance suggests the Red Raiders have found a gritty spark plug for their backcourt rotation.
