The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just got two potentially massive trade opportunities. After the Indianapolis Colts fired general manager Chris Ballard following their loss to the previously winless Tennessee Titans, Evan Winter breaks down two Colts players the Buccaneers should seriously consider pursuing. The first is Quentin Nelson. The veteran guard is playing at an elite level in 2026, currently ranking as the highest-graded guard in the NFL in the numbers Evan cites. Nelson has allowed only six pressures through six games and has yet to allow a sack. Evan explains why Tampa Bay should consider sending a second-round pick for Nelson, how he would immediately upgrade the left guard position, and why putting Nelson next to Tristan Wirfs could give the Buccaneers one of the best left sides of any offensive line in football. The second potential target is Tavares Ward, a former Pro Bowl cornerback who could make a lot of sense for Todd Bowles' defense. Ward has dealt with injuries and missed significant time over the last two seasons, but Evan explains why much of his recent statistical decline isn't necessarily indicative of his actual ability. Ward had five interceptions and 23 pass breakups in 2023, and he's playing well again for Indianapolis in 2026. Most importantly, Evan believes Tampa Bay could potentially acquire Ward for only a fifth- or sixth-round pick. That would allow the Bucs to add an experienced former Pro Bowl corner without taking playing time away from Jacob Parrish, while giving the team additional insurance with Benjamin Morrison dealing with injuries. Evan also uses the A to Z Sports Trade Simulator to determine what each potential deal could look like and how it would affect Tampa Bay's salary cap. Could the Buccaneers actually make either of these trades? Should they? And which Colts player would YOU want Tampa Bay to target? Let us know in the comments!
