Darnell Nurse on Sharks Buy-In: "Delete the Outside Noise" Before Flames

Sharks defenseman Darnell Nurse spoke at morning skate before San Jose hosted the Calgary Flames on Nov. 2, 2026. Asked about the coach's comments on a lack of buy-in, he said it is "on us as the players," and that the Sharks have been disconnected and spread out on the ice. He backed the system, saying any system works when everyone is on the same page, and said the adjustment period is over a month into the season. Drawing on his time in Edmonton, Nurse said the group has to "delete the outside noise and just play within the room," and called pressure a privilege that comes with playing at the highest level.
