All roads lead to game day this weekend, and week one heads to Australia.
The Rams host the 49ers in the NFL's first-ever regular season game on the continent, so of course we have to have Jay on, to ask questions about this matchup, our resident Australian.
It's gonna be here in Melbourne.
Jay, a short week, neutral continent, what are we doing here?
Yeah, it's a very strange setup.
I will say, as an Australian, it is going to be pretty cool watching these guys go at it, at the MCG, the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Trista, as you know, much of my youth was spent on the hallowed walk from Richmond Station to the gates, of the MCG.
That was mainly to see Collingwood play, and we're not gonna have Daisy Thomas or Travis Cloke, but we will have Matthew Stafford, Miles Garrett, Brock Purdy, and co.
I think one of the most interesting things about this matchup is just what the teams are doing in terms of their travel schedules.
I always find it fascinating when there's a divergence on something like this.
Like surely there's just a correct way to do it, but it seems like there's not, or at least there's not consensus because the 9ers, they're already in Australia.
They got there a week early, to get acclimated.
Nick Bose was talking about how he was gonna try out Melbourne coffee, see some, nature exhibits, in his own words.
And meanwhile, the Rams are gonna fly in the day before, the way that soccer teams used to fly into Bolivia, the day A couple hours before the game too so they wouldn't have to deal with the altitude for World Cup qualifiers and things like that.
So interestingly approaches.
I'm not a sports scientist.
I don't know which one is better.
I would think that the 9ers approach is, is better, but I'm not a scientist, so I don't know.
Anyway, I think this game, I think it's going to be a little bit more of a defensive struggle than people anticipate despite all the big names on offense.
I would lean under as my bet here.
I think that, the Rams defense is going to be better than the Rams offense this season, and I think that the 9ers, that their defense will be much improved from last year just with the presence of Nick Bosa, and Fred Warner.
So ultimately, I think the Rams will win.
I think it'll be tight, but I think this is gonna be a bit more of a defensive match up, than most people think.
