Luka Doncic Answers Defense Critics After 45-Point Night in Lakers Win Over Raptors

Luka Doncic scored 45 points in the Lakers' 131-125 win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, adding five steals, three charges drawn and 15 defensive rebounds. Afterward he pushed back on criticism of his defense. He admitted he has a reputation on that end but said he has improved this year and that it is helping the whole team. Coach JJ Redick agreed, praising his on-ball containment and the way he helps teammates organize the defense, and called his willingness to take charges a form of leadership. The breakdown covers his strengths (anticipating passes, using his size) and his weak spot: limited lateral quickness against faster ball handlers.
