Acre
ACRE offers what you want when you want it. We are open Sunday-Thursday from 11:30-8:30pm & Friday-Saturday from 11:30am-9pm (closed daily from 2pm-4pm). We have hand crafted pizzas that are developed by our award winning pizza chef, David Jacobson, and a full dinner menu including a wood fired rotisserie chicken and garlic prawns every night from Executive Chef Dirk Tolsma. The food is heartfelt and the service is welcoming and professional. We are centered in the market and if you’ve seen downstairs, chances are we use it in our restaurant as well. Great olive oils, cheeses, and produce are the backbone to our cuisine. We are also a great place for business lunches and large groups. Next time you’re in the neighborhood-stop by and say hello!

Created by Top Chef Season 18 Contestant, Chef Nelson German of alaMar Kitchen & Bar, Sobre Mesa is an Afro-Latino Kitchen featuring lush surroundings, refined cocktails, seasonal cuisine, and up-tempo music. The libations and lively atmosphere take their inspiration from Nelson’s Dominican roots and African ancestry, with influences from Cuba, Puerto Rico and other Latin countries. The tapas menu, made using fresh local ingredients and flavors designed to pair perfectly with the cocktails, is a joyful expression of Nelson's culinary journey and heritage. The name Sobre Mesa literally means “over the table.” It’s a reference to what you do after the meal, once the hunger has passed and real conversation can begin.

Located in the heart of the chic Rockridge area, Wood Tavern is arguably one of Oakland's favorite restaurants. Saying that they have pretty good dishes is a vast understatement. The menu changes frequently but might include dishes like seared duck breast, steaks and freshly made pastas. While the restaurant tends to crowd up, especially during peak hours, an airy breeze (when weather permits) and a friendly staff help to cultivate a casual atmosphere. Equipped with a full cocktail menu and over 70 wines, you can even stop in just for an after-work drink and leave satisfied.
Cato's Ale House is a Piedmont Avenue favorite. This cozy pub-style restaurant makes everyone feel comfortable as soon as they walk in, which probably accounts for the huge number of regulars who pass through its doors on a daily basis. Cato's features a large selection of draft beers, many of them local and not easy to find elsewhere and a small but good selection of wines. The menu features regular American pub grub like burgers, pizzas and salads. In addition to the always lively atmosphere, Cato's frequently hosts all kinds of events from live music to trivia nights to Karaoke.
Sláinte
Sláinte, the Gaelic word for "cheers" or "to your health", is a good name for this traditional Irish Pub located in Jack London Square. The interiors feature a lot of dark wood, exposed brick walls, copper accessories and fixtures and the Irish colors. Above a cozy fireplace, you will find a portrait of James Joyce, while other walls have ones of Oscar Wilde. The pub hosts traditional Irish musicians and quiz nights. The food menu is small but features traditional Irish delicacies. Irish breakfast is available all day with dishes such as black and white pudding (imported from Ireland), eggs and boxty, and Irish bacon or sausage. The bar menu features classic cocktails, spirits, beers, and Irish whiskeys. Guinness is available on tap, and you might want to down traditional drinks such as Magners Irish Cider and Smithwick's Ale.
