The St. Paul Grill

All of St. Paul seems to gather here for lunch or dinner before hitting the theater. As busy as it is, the frosted glass panels scattered about the dining area give an air of privacy. The handsome, comfortable surroundings are what you would expect from a four-star establishment. The wait staff is experienced and considerate. The menu is a mixture of light entrees (pastas, walleye and chicken) and classic hearty meals (24oz steaks, pork chops and veal). The three page wine list has every vintage you can imagine. An extensive selection of imported beers and top quality liquors is available. Reservations are advised, but the paneled, club-like bar serves the full menu until midnight.

Cafe Latte

The wait can be long and parking sparse, but you will be glad you risked it. Cafe Latte a modern, airy restaurant is in a two-story building with walls of windows on the bustling corner of Grand and Victoria. Service is cafeteria style. You will be tempted by the decadent dessert showcase with gooey turtle cake and delicate pear almond tarts. Daily choices of soups and salads may include chicken Caesar salad, homemade vegetable beef soup or chicken salsa chili. Pair soup or salad with a made-to-order sandwich, such as turkey avocado or roast beef and cheddar, or a gourmet pizza available at Latte's back wine bar, and you have a meal. High tea is served and so is brunch on Sunday. Over 50 wines and 20 coffee and tea drinks highlight the beverage list, as well as a good selection of beer, soft drinks and mineral water.

DeGidio's

Family owned Italian restaurant

The Lexington

Located in a formidable brick building, the Lex (as locals call it) has been serving high-class food in an even fancier dining room since the 1930s. Dinners such as the walleye almondine and prime rib are perfect for special occasions. There is a steady stream of regulars who have been coming here for a very reliably good lunch that is actually quite reasonable. Dinners are more expensive, though also quite expansive with several sides that are meals in and of themselves. Dishes are prepared to be suitable for all tastes and special requests are gladly accommodated by the very friendly and patient waitstaff. Often overlooked is their very mahogany bar with one of the best wells in town.

Sawatdee Saint Paul

When we first opened our doors in 1983, the Sawatdee mission was simple: to take our community on an adventure full of Thai flavors and good times. Many years later, that adventure is still as exciting as ever. Not only have we expanded with more restaurants to share our flavors with more folks, but we've added to the flavors we offer, as well. With an amazing bar, a fun-filled happy hour, live music every week, and a big screen to catch the game on, there's no better place to indulge in good taste than Sawatdee. At every Sawatdee restaurant, our philosophy is the same: Treat every guest with love and respect as we serve them dishes made with heart.

Waldmann Brewery

The epitome of a brewpub is the Waldmann Brewery & Wurstery located at Smith Avenue North. This brewery has everything to turn your experience into a delightful memory, an innovative beer selection, delicious German cuisine, and a pleasant atmosphere. The brewery features a contemporarily fashioned taproom and a spacious, pet-friendly patio for the guests. Grab a chill beer and savor the tempting meals while engaging in friendly conversations.

Luci Ancora

Crowded and sparsely decorated, this is like a noisy upscale mess hall. Sometimes noisiness has its charms and here, it is quite captivating. The short menu features Italian antipasti, salads, pastas, appetizers and main courses. Start with a Scampi, then move on to the spaghetti or Grilled Berkshire pork. Top off your meal with lip-smacking desserts. The wine list is mostly Italian and very extensive. Beer and soft drinks are also available.
