Located on the corner of Lake Lansing and Abbott Road, Spartan Dance & Fit Center is just a hop, skip and heel turn north of downtown East Lansing, Michigan, home of the Michigan State University Spartans. Spartan Dance & Fit Center offers children's dance classes, summer dance camps, summer dance classes and private lessons for its youth program. Spartan Dance & Fit Center also offers their competitive dance team for their more serious dancers! In addition to dance classes for our adults, SDFC offers CrossBox, Circuit, Core, Strength, Barre, Pilates, Zumba, S.D.F.C., Kickboxing and Yoga. Their Boot Camps have amazing results and the personal training options top it all off!
Premier Dance Company is a Haslett-based dance studio dedicated to developing talent at both the recreational and competitive level. Expert instruction, with performance experience, in all styles of dance, voice, musical theater and acting. We have experienced faculty with a technically and artistically-based philosophy. Instruction is tailored to each skill level and talent within each class, with personalized training for each student taught in a gently nurturing and comprehensive environment. Students get incomparable training, resulting in becoming artists of considerable merit. Our students are awarded financial scholarships for their art, perform as hosts in local television shows and commercial TV spots and win leading parts in local plays. The Studio offers a Performing Arts Company for both dancers and actors that want more stage experience. They perform in original shows (in theaters) to critical acclaim, and give back to their communities by performances for various charities and fundraisers throughout the year. We have a proven success rate with collegiate dance, theater and musical theatre programs. The emphasis in our programs is on training students to the highest degree of proficiency desired, while still enjoying the process. Students will be very proud of the level of professionalism they will develop and retain a life-long appreciation of the arts.
Philosophy: Danceworks philosophy is based on a genuine interest in each student's personal growth as well as their artistic growth. We believe that our students can only reach their true potential through a healthy approach to achieving their goals. Serious students that take advantage of Danceworks complete program will be better prepared for professional work in the field by developing strong technique, stage presence, and a personal style. In addition to technique classes, Street Dance/Urban jazz and conditioning classes are offered for recreational fun. The school's contemporary dance company, Lansing Chamber Dance, offers serious dancers additional performance opportunities in the concert setting. Danceworks adheres to state and national guidelines for Dance Education.
