Brooklyn Swings is a great chill place to learn how to swing dance. Swing dance is a Black American Folk Dance that started in Harlem, NY and is danced all over the world today. We offer Level I & Level II series every MONDAY, TUESDAY and in TWO locations in Brooklyn! Plus a weekly dance on FRIDAYS. Come enjoy the the music, dance, history, people and the international community at large.

welcome to Destination Dance Studio... We use a variety of techniques to teach you to dance, including: Private Lessons, where you work one-on-one with an instructor on the various elements of dancing, including patterns, timing, lead/follow, styling Group Lessons, which provide a learning experience with other students on the floor. Because the student is not the only couple dancing at a club, wedding, or any function, it is important to understand how to maneuver with other couples on the floor. The Group Lessons concentrate on aspects such as floor craft, dancing with other partners, technique. Parties, which provide the student with the opportunity to have fun dancing within a comfortable and familiar environment and to practice their dance skills. Our parties include in-studio parties as well as an evening of dinner and dancing...

Song & A Dance

SONG & A DANCE offers the best in Professional Classes and Private instruction. Classes are offered in Dance - Acrobatics - Karate. Private instruction is in music lessons on all instruments including vocal. We always welcome beginners in all classes. We have a special Creative Movement Class starting with 2 1/2 year olds. We offer a free class in Dance acro and Karate. Music instruction is for all ages and includes Rock Jazz Blues Classical and all other styles. The company's professional team has toured in Asia, Europe, Latin America and across the United States and regularly hosts charity fundraisers to promote the art form and raise money for charitable organizations. BAILA Society in New York partners with Peridance, one of the premier ballet and modern dance companies to bring NY Salsa to the classical dance world and codify its techniques to certify dance schools around the world in the BASo teaching methodology.

Anahid Sofian Studio

A leading studio for middle eastern dance in NY, the Sofian Studio was established in 1972 and offers instruction in traditional Arabic, Turkish, and North African styles, from Beginner to Professional levels. Classes encompass all aspects of Oriental Dance -- finger cymbals, music and rhythms for the dance, veil work, floor work, costume making, structured improvisation and choreography -- and include a thorough warm up suitable for the needs of middle eastern dancers. Bring light weight and comfortable workout clothes for class; leotards, t-shirts, yoga pants are fine, and a hip sash for the dance portion. Also, it's best to work barefoot, but soft slippers or sandals are allowed.
