For over a century the city of Rayne was known as the ‘Frog Capital of the World'. The city was the center of the frog industry that flourished for decades, but by the 1970s the industry saw a sharp decline. In order to revive the legacy of the frog industry in 1973 the first Frog Festival was celebrated by the locals. Since then over the years the festival is celebrated annually at Rayne Frog Festival Pavilion.

The Art Studio, Inc. was founded by artists for fellow artists in 1983. Their aim is to promote art and culture in Southeast Texas. It is a platform for upcoming talents where a studio and equipments are provided at an affordable rate. Their works are regularly exhibited, making it an interesting stop for art lovers. They also hold educational programs in the community and host band nights monthly.
