I have been a full time musician for many years and fortunate to do what I love. I very much enjoy teaching piano to all grades (from beginner to college entrance) and all ages including adults (of which I have many. I have two degrees in piano and offer a high quality level of instruction while also of course keeping it fun and engaging. I am comfortable with many styles, including classical, pop, church music, and playing by ear. All music is valid. I even have some teens that like to study computer game music! My private home studio is in a lovely and if fully equipped with a keyboard and a Steinway grand piano. I also some online teaching if that is more convenient for you. I have taught guitar lessons full time since 2003 and believe anyone can learn to play the guitar well. I do about 600 private one on one lessons a year. It is endlessly inspiring to see each person set goals, put in the work and continue to take their next step and learn the next song or concept. I also teach online with folks around the country and world, running small group online classes with my Guitar Heads School. I work with brand new beginners up to professional musicians looking for new advanced concepts. Topics include Technique, Songs, Creative Topics and Music Theory. Kids and adults are welcome! I always appreciate when someone reaches out for lessons. I know it is a commitment of time and money and also that we know there will be work to be put in with practice between lessons. The study of music is something that we do for ourselves and to connect with others, it gives us the chance to express ourselves and get closer to the music we love. I honor that effort and do all that I can to support the persons work and direct our lessons so that we are making a little bit of progress each week. My goal is that each lesson provides something specific and actionable to get a little bit better one step at a time.
