Offering private music lessons for all ages, levels and styles on most instruments, Romper Rhythms classes for babies, toddlers and parents, a summer rock band camp and audio engineering classes, Blue Sky is the place to learn anything music! The store, in addition to selling instruments and supplies, also rents and repairs instruments. The recording studio produces full length albums and demos, does transfers from vinyl records, reel to reels and just about any other medium to CD, and records on location as well. We offer music lessons to ALL ages, kids and adults, and all skill levels. Two of our owners, Kenny Hohman and Lori Friday, are in the world-renowned band, Super 400. They've spent the past 15 years recording and touring the US and Europe, playing to legions of fans. The mayor of Troy even gave them a holiday, 'Super 400 Day', to celebrate the band's success. Our Third owner, Graham Tichy, has thrilled audiences all over the country, sharing stages with legends - he is also a major player in the Capital District live music scene, performing several shows weekly. Before they opened the TMA, these three friends agreed that locally, there existed a niche to fill - individualized music instruction that was based on the students themselves - in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. We are located in the beautiful Market Block building in Troy, which is an indoor shopping mall of sorts, in one of the most historic buildings in town. After your lesson, grab some coffee and eats, or browse for clothing, pottery, handmade goods, terrariums and plants, and local jewelry, all in the Market Block.
