I am a little different than other guitar teachers because I teach the fundamentals of music using a clear structure that I tailor to each student’s goals and learning style. Students develop a strong skill set to use in all kinds of musical situations, and many of my students perform all over the country, in various styles, earning their living from music.
Andy Shaw teaches people how to sing. Singers of all skill levels are welcome, including complete beginners. Andy is comfortable coaching a variety of singing styles, including pop, r and b, rock, alternative, Broadway, jazz, blues and country music. Andy emphasizes the great importance of learning the mechanics of singing; proper breathing and posture, correct use of the the larynx, tongue, jaw, soft palate and more. Students work on singing in tune, increasing range and power, and singing with flexibility and ease. All exercises are recorded for the student to use at home. Andy can accompany students on piano in most any style of music, and can transpose keys on sight, to find the best key for each singer. Students who accompany themselves on guitar are welcome. Andy will provide recorded piano accompaniments in the student's key for students to practice with at home or in their car. Andy also specializes in working with people who think they cannot sing. In most cases, Andy can get them singing.
Fingerprint Music School offers piano, guitar, ukulele, and drum lessons in your home or online. Reading music is OPTIONAL. We've been around since 2006 and taught thousands of enthusiastic students of all ages and abilities. We're extremely selective about our teachers-- we only hire multi-instrumentalists (all teach at least guitar & piano) that can read music, improvise & write music, AND play by ear. Each student gets a customized mix of curriculum to ensure the learning process is FUN and tailored to their individual strengths and interests. Students can pick their own music-- anything from popular songs to movie music to the latest video game music-- our teachers can figure out any song by ear on the spot. Our teachers are also fully background-checked, highly professional, have good people skills (including with young children), and are good people that we'd trust with our own kids. Consider gifting your friends and family members rhythm training and/or rhythm lessons for the holiday. Digital gift certificates are available for one lesson or a series. You will be supporting a small business and I give special attention to each student. More about Body Mechanics Training and Rhythm: People don't realize that the training I give goes far beyond teaching a new drummer how to play drums or re-inspire professional to practice again. I am not only a professional drummer with over 35 years of playing experience but I'm a physiologist which is the science behind how our bodies and minds work with an emphasis on kinesiology which is the science of movement. Even though there are some similarities in the physiology between most of us, the way we learn is uniquely different to the individual. This is why I built all my programs to meet the learning style and needs of each individual. The exercise's I will give you are like Vitamins for the body and brain. Everybody has fun with my lessons but the specific benefits include: * Seniors improve their balance and short term memory. * Kids improve their focus, attention span, coordination, balance, and memory. * Drummers (new and experienced) igniting their creativity on Latin Percussion and drum set playing. * Dancers, singers, and instrumentalists improving their Musicality.
