Portage Glacier Lodge is a cafe, restaurant, and Alaska gift shop in Portage Valley, right on the edge of Portage Lake and minutes from the Begich Boggs Visitor Center and the glacier cruise dock. Our menu is made fresh daily: salmon chowder, smoked salmon and halibut sandwiches, burgers, pizza, espresso drinks, fresh-baked pastries, and ice cream. Browse our gift shop for Alaska-made gifts and souvenirs, from magnets and postcards to local art. We are the only cafe in Portage Valley and a natural stop between Anchorage and Whittier. Drive along Turnagain Arm past the whales, sheep, and mountains, and pull in for a hot meal and easy parking. Open daily, May through mid-September.
