Located in Andersonville, La Colombe offers excellent, fresh coffees in spacious, wood-decked interiors. For those who appreciate a good cup of java, there is a wide variety on the brew menu, ranging from cold-pressed black coffee, classic blends brewed with chocolate and caramel and black pepper blends to health-focused organic blends. The coffee house allows for oodles of natural light, so that you early morning cuppa here is every bit worth it. The only complain here is that there is no WiFi, but then again, folks walk in here purely for La Colombe's brilliant coffee.
Dark Matter Coffee is run by entrepreneur Jesse Diaz, who formerly worked as a barista, before venturing out on his own. Diaz learned all about beans through hard work, and today his shop in Ukrainian Village specializes in barrel-aged coffee which uses fermented beans that yield deep and complex flavors. The artisan roastery stands out among its Chicago peers by its fearless attitude to experiment with roasting and brewing techniques. It boldly tries innovative methods but also revives long-lost traditions. This coffeehouse features quirky charts and pipes on the walls to exhibit the coffee brewing process, and vintage equipment displayed flamboyantly in a separate space, making the place resemble a museum. The groovy background music, whimsical decor and rich coffee makes the cafe an undisputed winner.
We are a Latina owned small business. We roast our own coffee and make fresh bagel sandwiches to order. Our goal is to provide a fun, safe, high energy environment to enjoy good music and food.
